  1. Thank you very much for your interest in TouchBASE. Before using this demo version, there are a few things you should know.

  3. Q.    What System is required to use TouchBASE?
  4. A.    You must use System 6.0.5 or greater.

  6. Q.    Can I get a copy of Guy’s database of Macintosh contacts?
  7. A.    Yes, you can request it from him, and he’ll be happy to send one to you electronically. He has also posted it on AppleLink (3rd Party Connection->Software Demos->Database), America Online (Computing and Software->Business folder->Software Libraries folder->Databases->“Guy Kawasaki Contacts TouchBASE.”), CompuServe (Mac Applications->Databases->“Guy.sit."

  9. Q.    How do I obtain the pre-defined envelope, label, report, and fax cover sheet templates? 
  10. A.    After installing the ToucBASE Demo desk accessory, copy the “TouchBASE Prefs” file into your system folder. This file contains pre-defined templates for envelopes, labels, reports, and fax cover sheets.

  12. Q.    How do I create a data file?
  13. A.    When you launch TouchBASE Demo from the Apple menu for the first time, you are asked to locate a data file or create a new one. Since you don’t have a data file, you should click on the New button and follow the steps to create a new data file. If you are already in a data file and desire to create a new one, you should use the Open... command in the TouchBASE menu and then click on the New button.

  15. Q.    How is this demo version limited?
  16. A.    It is limited to 25 records. However, you can open data files of more than twenty five records—you simply cannot save more than a 25th record. Other than this limitation, we made this demo version fully functional so that you can thoroughly “test drive” TouchBASE.
